About Me

My name is Daniel Yoder, and I am currently a second-year Information Technology Major and Management Information Systems minor at Youngstown State. At YSU, I've worked with IT Customer Services at the Service Desk as a Student Assistant and now I work with IT infrastructure and Security as a Student Systems Administrator. As part of this position, I am able to assist students, faculty, and staff with a wide variety of technical issues that range from password resets to troubleshooting significant software/network issues. By doing so, I’ve learned about the systems YSU uses to perform a wide variety of tasks. I’ve seen how each group in IT interacts with each other through ticket elevation and I’ve developed an interest in furthering my career interests in IT Infrastructure and IT Security. I have a significant background in technology, having such an interest since I was young. I am proficient in Windows, Linux, and MacOS operating systems. I’ve also had significant programming exposure with Python and C++, having coded a few projects using Python and was exposed to C++ in a handful of programming classes at YSU. I’ve also had exposure to MySQL and related systems in a relational database class. That being said, I have developed a significant interest in pursuing IT Infrastructure and IT Security as a career.
